MAPS OF THE RED RIVER

Mollie Goldstrom was commissioned to make work in response to the guided walks exploring the course of the Red River, which took place in 2021. Weaving together historic, scientific and literary references made by John Wedgwood Clarke and the many other contributors to the walks, and undertaking her own research, Mollie carefully mapped the first and final stages of the river.
Each map provides a legend to help the viewer unlock the layers of visual and written information that give a sense of the depth and breadth of the conversations that took place as we explored the landscape.
